
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed gratitude to US President Donald Trump for his phone call and warm greetings for his 75th birthday. PM Modi shared the stock exchange on X, formerly Twitter, emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral bonds.
“Thank you, my friend, President Trump, for your phone call and warm greetings for my 75th birthday,” PM Modi wrote. “Like you, I am also fully determined to accept a comprehensive and global partnership in India to new heights. We support your initiatives to resolve the conflict of Ukraine.”
Trump said he had a “amazing” phone call with Prime Minister Narendra Modim. The US President also emphasized the support of PM Modi about his pressure on the peaceful solution for the ongoing conflict of Russia-Ukraine. Trump, who published on the Social Truth, wrote: “He just had a wonderful phone call with his boyfriend, Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I wanted him very happy birthday! He’s doing a great job. Narendra: Thank you for your support at the end of the war between Russia and Ukraine!”
The exchange came when both countries continued to deepen strategic and economic ties.
A few hours ago, India and the United States in the new Delhi organized a bike of “positive” business interviews.
The report underlines the continuing focus of both leaders on the expansion of the strategic partnership in India and the US, while reflecting common concern for global peace and stability, especially in terms of ongoing conflict of Ukraine.
India, the US agrees to intensify the interviews for an early business agreement
US sales representative assistant Brendan Lynch met with the Ministry of Commerce and a special secretary of industry Rajesh Agrawal in Nový Delhi on Tuesday to discuss further steps in bilateral business negotiations. Both parties agreed to increase their efforts to close the mutually beneficial bilateral trade agreement (BTA).
The Ministry of Trade has described the discussion as “positive and searching” that covered various aspects of the proposed agreements. The US Embassy spokesman also confirmed that the meeting is productive and focused on the development of a business agenda.
India and the US have so far organized five rounds. The planned sixth round in August was postponed, although Washington stored steep tariffs on Indian goods. In July, President Trump chose 25%duty, followed a few days later by another 25%, which increased the total tariffs to 50%, quoting the Indian continuing import of Russian oil. The tariffs came into force on August 27.
The interviews recently focused on the interim arrangement to avoid further escalation. India, however, pushed against the US requirements to open its agriculture and milk and dairy products and described them as critical for the living millions.
The BTA negotiations began in March 2025, with both sides to close the first phase by October – November this year.
PM PM modi turns 75
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will celebrate his 75th birthday on Wednesday (September 17). He was born in Gujarat’s Mehsana on September 17, 1950, and from 2001 to 2014 he worked as the main minister for three consecutive term of office before becoming prime minister, now in his third term since 2014.
For his birthday, PM is likely to visit Bihar, who coincides with Pitra Paksha Mel in Gayai, the main spiritual gathering that attracts lakes devoted from India and abroad. However, there was no official confirmation about the visit.
In accordance with his tradition, his birthday designation with the public service, PM Modi has interact with citizens in the past, has launched social care programs, or participated in community initiatives instead of organizing personal celebrations.
This year, the Bharatiya Janata (BJP) party will be marked by the two -week “Sewa Pakhwada”. The program includes national camps for blood donation, cleanliness drives, plantations’ initiative “EK Ped Maa K naam” and exhibitions presenting the success of the Prime Minister.
