The Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Jeddah for more than 40 years. Until now, all visits to Modi in Saudi Arabia have been limited to the capital of Riyadh.
The last Indian Prime Minister, who visited Jeddah, was Indira Gandhi, who set out in 1982.
