Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going on a three-country visit to Jordan, Ethiopia and Oman next week to strengthen ties with the three countries.
Prime Minister Modi will visit Jordan from December 15 to 16 at the invitation of King Abdullah II. bin Al Husayn.
What’s on the agenda?
During the visit, the Prime Minister will meet with the King of Jordan to review the full range of bilateral relations and exchange views on regional issues.
The visit, marking the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, presents an opportunity to strengthen India-Jordanian bilateral engagement, explore new avenues of cooperation for mutual growth and prosperity, and reiterate commitment to promote regional peace, prosperity, security and stability, the PMO report said.
Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Ethiopia
Prime Minister Modi will visit Ethiopia on the second leg of his visit from December 16-17. It will be his first visit to an African country. He will hold wide-ranging discussions with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali on all aspects of India-Ethiopia bilateral relations.
“As partners in the Global South, the visit will reaffirm the shared commitment of both nations to develop close ties of friendship and bilateral cooperation,” the statement said.
PM Modi’s visit to Oman
In the final leg of his visit, Prime Minister Modi will visit Oman from December 17-18. This will be PM Modi’s second visit to Oman.
India and Oman share a comprehensive strategic partnership that rests on centuries-old bonds of friendship, trade ties and strong people-to-people ties. The visit will mark 70 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and follows the state visit of the Sultan of Oman to India in December 2023.
The visit will be an opportunity for both sides to comprehensively review the bilateral partnership, including in the fields of trade, investment, energy, defense, security, technology, agriculture and culture, as well as exchange views on regional and global issues of common interest.
