The Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Gujarat 25 and 26 August to start 1,449 houses and 130 shops built at the price of 133.42 GBP Crore under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) in Nikola, Ahmedabad. The aim of the project is to provide modern houses to families living in slum areas.
Mr. Modi is likely to address the public gathering in Nikola from 18:00 to 19:00, after which he will stay in Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar overnight. Sources suggest that it can also meet the BJP leaders to discuss the potential overlap of the cabinet and the selection of the new President of the party.

It is also among the six states selected for the Light House project, building 1,144 houses in Rajkot using a monolithic concrete structure, they added.
