
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday interviewed the Italian premiere of Girogia Meloni on the sidelines proposed by FTA EUI in India. PM Modi said that he and PM Meloni “reaffirmed the common commitment” between the two nations “to deepen the strategic partnership of India-Itals”.
“We had an excellent interview with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. We confirmed our joint commitment to deepen the strategic partnership in India-Italy and shared interest in the premature end of the conflict in Ukraine. They thanked Prime Minister Meloni for its active support for Italy for Italian support, which was published for X.
During the call, PM Modi also discussed with Meloni ways to end the conflict in Ukraine, as well as the introduction of the economic corridor of the India-Middle East-Europe (IMEEC), PTI said.

13. A round of interviews on the proposed free trade agreement (FTA) between India and the European Union (EU) began on Monday 9 September.
The European Commissioner for Trade Maros SEFCOVIC and the Agriculture Commission Christophe Hansen is scheduled to visit India 12 September to evaluate the progress of negotiations with the trade union and Minister of Industry Piyush Goyal, PTI reported.
Two Commissioners, who are equivalent to the Cabinet ministers, will lead a 30 -member negotiating team from Brussels and meet their counterparts in Delhi, Minister of Trade Piyush Goyal and Minister of Agriculture Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
On February 28, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the chairman of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen agreed by the end of this year to conclude a much -awaited free trade agreement.
India and the EU re -launched negotiations on free trade agreement (FTA) in June 2022 after a gap over eight years.
