Showing thoughtful interest, he walked over to the counter, picked up the food, and personally handed it to her. The felicitation ceremony at the Prime Minister’s residence brought together the World Cup winning team, head coach Amol Muzumdar and BCCI president Mithun Manhas. The gathering celebrated India’s momentous win in the Women’s World Cup final. The meeting was notable not only for the formal recognition, but also for the camaraderie and personal stories exchanged between the team and the Prime Minister.

Reflecting on the team’s journey, captain Harmanpreet Kaur recalled the previous meeting with PM Modi after their narrow defeat in the 2017 final.
She said: “I still remember when we met you in 2017. We did not come with a trophy then. But it is a great honor for us that this time, for something we have worked so hard for so many years, we have brought the trophy here,” she said.

The event also included lighter moments when the Prime Minister engaged in frank conversations with the players. He asked player of the tournament Deepti Sharma about her Hanuman tattoo which has gone viral on social media.
Top batsman Harleen Deol brought a sense of humor to the occasion as she asked PM Modi about his skin care routine, to which he replied with a smile, “I don’t think about all that.”
The women’s team also met President Droupadi Murma at her residence in New Delhi on Thursday and presented her with an autographed jersey.
