New Delhi: After the US attacked three nuclear places in Iran, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Iranian President Masouda Pezshkian and expressed deep concern over the escalation in the Israeli and Iranian conflict.
When the Prime Minister signed up for the X-Social Media platform, he said he had repeated the Indian call for immediate de-acidity, dialogue and diplomacy to restore peace.
“We talked to President of Iran @Drpezeshkian. We discussed in detail the current situation. We expressed deep concerns in recent escalats. He reiterated our call for immediate de-schooling, dialogue and diplomacy as forward and for early restoration of regional peace, security and stability,” Modi said.
The US on Saturday began air strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities – Natanz, Ford and Isfahan – a sharp growing tension in West Asia. At the TV address on Sunday (India Time) US President Donald Trump confirmed a direct attack on the Iranian nuclear program and ended the days of speculating on the entry into Washington into the conflict of Israel-Imán. He warned that other punches could follow.
“Remember, there are many goals left. Tonight was the most difficult and perhaps the deadst of all the most difficult. But if peace does not come quickly, we will go to the other goals with accuracy, speed and skill,” Trump said.
Iran previously released a strong warning against the US involvement. The highest leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned that any American attack would cause “irreparable damage”.
India has a deep strategic and economic links with Iran, including its involvement in the development of the Port Chabahar. Other escalations risk unrest in global energy markets and may disrupt Indian brutal imports.
The US intervention also increased concerns about the wider regional war, as Iran has repeatedly threatened to block the Hormuz Strait and focus on American bases and assets in the Gulf.
Several countries demanded de-school. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz urged Iran on Sunday to return to diplomacy after the US strikes.
Meanwhile, media reports citing Washington groups activists for human rights said that Israeli strikes on Iran were killed by at least 865 people and injured 3,396 others.
