PM Modi pays tribute to former PM Manmohan Singh on his birth anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday (September 26, 2026) honored former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on his birth anniversary and recalled his many years in public life serving the nation with devotion.

Singh was born on 26 September 1932 in the Punjab province of undivided India and died in New Delhi on 26 December 2024.

“Tribute to our former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh Ji on his birth anniversary. He spent many years in public life and served the nation with devotion,” Mr Modi said in a post on X.

Singh assumed office as the 14th Prime Minister of India on 22 May 2004 and a second consecutive term on 22 May 2009.

He was the Union Finance Minister from 1991 to 1996 and launched a comprehensive policy of economic reforms recognized worldwide.
