The meeting came only a few months after Modi’s visit to Washington in February, where he organized extensive interviews with US President Donald Trump. This visit has set a tone for deeper engagement under what Indian officials describe as an additional vision between Trump “Make America Great Again” Agenda and Indian “Viksit Bharat 2047”.
Monday’s interviews were built on the dynamics of this meeting, as IZ Modi’s short interaction with Vice Vice President in Paris this February.
It is expected that the business agreement that is close to finalizing will reduce trade obstacles and create new market opportunities for businesses in both countries.
“On both sides, it is on both sides to make it. The agreement is now framed with respect to people focused on people,” the government official said.
Energy security, defense links and cooperation in strategic and developing technologies were reviewed during the meeting during the meeting.
India wanted to use its expanding ecosystems of defense and semiconductors for closer integration with American partners, while Washington has shown strong interest in India as a critical partner for diversification of global technological supplier chains.
In terms of global questions, Modi and Vance reaffirmed the need for dialogue and diplomacy to deal with ongoing conflicts and tensions, reflecting shared concerns about geopolitical instability and economic fallout and protectionist trends.
Modi also said that he was looking forward to the welcome of Trump to India at the end of this year – the visit was expected to further deepen political and economic ties at a time when both countries navigate a comprehensive global settlement.
