Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit manipur in September September in September, for the first time since ethnic violence in the state broke out more than two years ago, government sources said.
The Prime Minister is likely to visit the districts of Imphal and Churachandpur in a state affected by violence, where they are expected to meet people displaced from their homes because of ethnic dispute. During his visit, he is also likely to announce key infrastructure projects for the region and start several projects, sources said.
To visit the manipure, it is likely to appear during the upcoming Mr. Modi trip to Mizoram and Assam from 12 to September 14. In two countries it is scheduled to inaugurate rail and other key infrastructure projects.
Close safety
In the manipure, safety measures are tightened in manipure to avoid any kind of violence. “The PM visit data is developed. It could try to stimulate violence, but we carefully follow the situation,” said the government official.
At least 250 people have been killed and more than 60,000 people have lived in embossed camps since the violence between Meitei and Kuki-Zo has risen in the northeastern state on May 3, 2023.
Criticism against PM
Since the violence broke out, Mr Modi has been criticized for not visiting the opposition parties and locals in manipure.
The state was 13 February included in the President’s government for six months, which was extended by another six months on August 5th after the statutory resolution moved the Minister of the Interior Amit Shah both houses of parliament.
Although the government of the President has been prolonged, he is trying to restore the elected government because the rally of manipures did not dissolve Ben.
With the exception of several incidents, there was no major violence in the state after the president’s deposit. Police intervened against organized groups operating extortion missiles and confiscated hundreds of weapons plundered from police armory in 2023. Recovery was made of Hill and Valley districts. Up to 6,020 police weapons were plundered from the police armies and about 3,000 have been renewed so far.
