
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi was at the inauguration ceremony of the two main national highway projects, Delhi Expressway and Urban Extension Road-II (Uer-II).
Before the ceremonial inauguration, PM Modi dealt with construction workers in the Dwar Expressway and Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II). On Sunday, August 17, 2025, PM is scheduled to launch two main national highway projects in the value of combined costs almost £11,000 crore.
Minister of the Union Nitin Gadkari, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta and Haryan Cm Nayab Singh Saini also accompanied Prime Minister Modi.
Delhi part of the Dwarka motorway and the city distribution of Road-II (UER-II) are part of the wider government plan to reduce overload in the capital. The aim of these projects is to significantly increase connectivity, shorten travel times and mitigate the traffic in dili and nearby regions.
Before inauguration, PM modi received a great welcome supporters.
The Dwar Expressway section is 10.1 km and was built at the price of approximately Rs. 5 360 crore. This segment offers a multimodal connection to Yashobhoomi, DMRC Blue and Orange Lines, the upcoming Bijwasan and Dwar Cluster Bus Depot. It includes 5.9 km from the Shiv Murti junction on the road under the bridge (RUB) in the Dwarka-21 sector and 4.2 km from the Dwar Sector-21 Rub on the border of Delhi-Haryana, which makes direct access to the Urban Extension Road-II.
Previously, PM Modi started in March 2024 section Dwarka 19 km Haryana.
The Prime Minister will also start Alipur at Dichaon Kalan, Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II), along with new links to Bahadurgarh and Sonipat, which were built at the approximate cost of RS. 5 580 Crores. The aim of this project is to reduce overload on the inner and outer circular roads in Delhi, as well as key points such as Mukarba Chowk, Dhaula Kuan and NH-09. The new Spurs facilitates direct access to Bahadurgarh and Sonipat, increases industrial connectivity, reduces urban traffic and speeds up the movement of goods throughout the capital city.
