
Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a standing ovation in the Knesset on Wednesday as chants of “Modi, Modi” filled the air. Prime Minister Modi arrived in Tel Aviv on a two-day state visit. This is Modi’s second visit to Israel as Prime Minister after his previous trip in 2017.
In a post on X, the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office said: “Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara Netanyahu attend an official reception ceremony at the Knesset for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Following the arrival ceremony earlier in the day, PM Modi and the Israeli PM had a brief one-on-one meeting.
At the hotel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a warm and enthusiastic welcome from members of the Indian community and representatives of the Jewish Indian diaspora. The reception featured live cultural performances by Indian and Israeli artists, symbolizing the enduring friendship between the two nations.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu shared a video of PM Modi’s arrival on social media platform X and said, “Welcome to Israel my dear friend Narendra Modi”.
Netanyahu welcomes Modi’s visit
Netanyahu welcomed the visit of his good friend and called it historic.
“My wife Sara and I today welcomed our good friend, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived for another historic visit to Israel. Prime Minister Modi previously visited Israel in 2017 and I later made a reciprocal visit to India, which was truly special. We share a close personal relationship, we speak often and I believe the deep friendship between us reflects strongly on the ties between our two countries,” he said Netanyahu.
Earlier in the day, Netanyahu and his wife welcomed PM Modi at the airport. PM Modi’s pocket handkerchief and Sara Netanyahu’s outfit matched like saffrons.
