
Minister CPRIME Narendra Modi was described by the recently enacted Waqf (Domamen) law, 2025, as a significant step towards social justice and claimed to make the WAQF properties more efficient and support inclusiveness. PM Modi at the News18 Summit emphasized the rapid pace of reforms under his administration and said, “Those who thought India would go slowly and stable are now witnessing fast and fearless India.”
The WAQF Act (amendment), which was approved last week Parliament, entered into force since Tuesday, the government said in the announcement.
The Minority Minority announcements stated: “In the exercise of the powers granted by subsection (2) of Section 1 of the WAQF Act (change), 2025 (14 out of 2025), the Central Government shall hereby name the 8th day of April 2025 on the date on which the provisions on that Act will appear.”
Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha went through the law after mid -3rd April and 4 April. President of the Murmu Drouba Murmu predicted the proposed law 5th April.
Modi criticized the changes of the WAQF law in 2013 and described them as measures aimed at reassuring Muslim fundamentalists and the benefit of the land mafia.
Modi spoke of the recently enacted WAQF Act (amendment) and emphasized its importance in ensuring the sacredness of the WAQF properties and ensured the rights of marginalized groups such as poor, backward classes and women in the Muslim community.
PM Modi stressed that the new draft WAQF reflects the obligation of its government to social justice and inclusion and described the departure from past practices that, in his opinion, have undermined transparency and justice in the management of WAQF assets.
Several Muslim bodies and opposition deputies have shifted the Supreme Court against the law, which the ruling alliance described as the power for transparency and strengthening the position of backward Muslims and women from the community. The opposition killed her as unconstitutional and claimed to violate the rights of Muslims.
The Center also filed an objection to the Supreme Court and required hearing before any order was admitted to the reasons that question the constitutional validity of the WAQF law (amendment), 2025.
