At these places, steel barricades were installed for crowds and security.
Banners, flags and labels from BJP, AIADMK and Tamizhar Desam were located along the medians and sidewalks from the hotel to the airport. No other vehicles were allowed on this route during the Prime Minister’s transit. All shops along the road were temporarily closed as security measures and once the convoy has passed, they were reopened. The operation was diverted on alternative routes.
More than 1,400 police workers were deployed to ensure safety throughout the section. The arrangement was under the supervision of the top officials of the district and the municipal police.
