GST Council meetings
At the 56th meeting, the GST Council agreed to streamline the structure of the GST consolidation of existing boards to two primary rates – 5% and 18% by merging the previous 12% and 28% of categories.
The 5% board covers basic goods and services. This includes food and kitchen clamps such as butter, ghee, cheese, milk sprays, pre -wrapped snacks like Namkeens, Bhujia and mixtures, as well as tools. It also applies to agricultural tools and machines, including irrigation systems of dripping, sprinklers, bio-placements, micronutrients, soil preparation and harvesting, tractors and tractors tires. This category also includes products from small industries and crafts, such as sewing machines and their components, along with health objects such as medical devices and diagnostic sets.

The 18% board is set as a standard GST rate for most goods and services. This includes vehicles such as small vehicles and motorcycles with engines, up to 350 cc, various electronic and domestic consumer goods and certain professional services. All parts of cars are evenly taxed at this rate.
The 40% GST rate remains usable for luxury and sin. This includes products such as tobacco, pans of masala, cigarettes, bidis and sweet carbonated drinks, as well as luxury items such as top vehicles, motorcycles over 350 cc, yachts and helicopters.
In addition, several basic services and educational items are completely exempt from GST. They consist of individual and family health insurance, life insurance and specific services related to education and health care.
