
After the victory of the Prime Minister Lawrence Wong Wong’s People’s Action Party (PAP) in the Singapore General elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expanded his congratulations and reaffirmed strong bilateral ties between the two nations.
PM Modi appreciated the partnership between India and Singapore and emphasized his ties to people and expressed his commitment to further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership under the leadership of Wong.
Sharing the post on X, PM Modi wrote: “The greatest congratulations @lawrencewongst to your distinctive victory in the general elections. India and Singapore share a strong and versatile partnership that is the basis of loved ones.
The party, which has been in power since 1959, has improved significantly on its performance by 2020 and gained 87 out of 97 parliamentary seats and increased its share of popular vote to 65.6 %, from 61.2 % in the previous elections.

After winning Pap, PM thanked the voters for their strong support.
Wong, sharing the post on X, wrote: “Singaporeans Dali @papsingapore Clear and strong mandate rule. I am humiliated and grateful for the faith you have placed in me and my team.”
In the next post he wrote: “Let’s stand as one team Singapore-Abychom together faced storms ahead and secured a clearer future for all of us. We connect Singaporeans on this way to form our future.
Wong also acknowledged the efforts of the opposition, especially the Workers’ Party, which undertook to take its contributions to parliament.
“The opposition, especially the working party of the workers, built a strong slate to the candidates and gave us a hard fight. I respect the presence of the opposition in parliament and will continue to take its views and proposals seriously.
Wong was first elected as a member of the parliament in 2011. Before becoming prime minister, the Ministry of Culture, Communities and Youth, the Ministry of National Development and the Ministry of Education held the Ministry of Culture, Communities and Youth.
