
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a four-day visit to Jordan, Ethiopia and Oman today, December 15, to strengthen bilateral ties, particularly in the areas of trade and defence.
At the invitation of King Abdullah II. bin Al Hussein, Prime Minister Modi will visit Jordan from December 15 to 16, 2025. During the visit, the Prime Minister will meet King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein review the full range of India-Jordan relations and exchange views on regional issues.
India-Jordan ties
This visit, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, represents an opportunity to further strengthen India-Jordanian Bilateral Cooperationexplore new avenues of cooperation for mutual growth and prosperity and reaffirm our commitment to promote regional peace, prosperity, security and stability.

Partners in the Global South
In the second part of the visit at the invitation of Prime Minister of Ethiopia Abiy Ahmed Ali, Prime Minister Modi will head to Ethiopia on December 16, where he will stay for two days. This will be Prime Minister Modi’s first visit to Ethiopia. With Prime Minister Dr. Alim will lead extensive discussions on all aspects Bilateral relations between India and Ethiopia.
As partners in the Global South, the visit will reaffirm the shared commitment of both nations to foster close ties of friendship and bilateral cooperation.

The last stage in Oman
In the final leg of his visit, at the invitation of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman, Prime Minister Modi will visit the Sultanate of Oman on December 17-18, 2025. This will be PM Modi’s second visit to Oman. India and Oman share a comprehensive strategic partnership, underpinned by centuries-old bonds of friendship, trade ties and strong people-to-people ties.
The visit will mark 70 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and follows the state visit of His Majesty the Sultan of Oman to India in December 2023.
The visit will provide an opportunity for both sides to comprehensively review the bilateral partnership covering areas such as trade, investment, energy, defense, security, technology, agriculture and culture, as well as exchange views on regional and global issues of common interest.

Oman’s ambassador to India, Sheikh Humaid Bin Ali Bin Sultan Al-Mani, told news agency ANI that Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Muscat will be a “very important” milestone in bilateral relations, especially as the two countries commemorate 70 years of diplomatic relations this year.
The envoy described the timing as “very interesting”, noting that the visit comes two years after Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tariq visited India in December 2023, adding that it has significance “from various aspects”.
