
PM Narendra Modi was awarded on Friday with the “Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago” and became the first foreign leader in the island nation, which was awarded such a prestigious prize.
With this honor, PM Modi now has 25 international awards.

President Christine Kangaloo presented the prize during the two -day visit of Port Modi in Port in Spain, where it was donated by “140 crore Indians” as a symbol of permanent friendship among nations.
Since 1999, this visit has identified the first two -sided trip from India from India to the Caribbean nation.
Trinidad’s Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissesar announced his honor earlier and called on the visit of PM Modi’s “moment of shared pride” and praised him as “one of the most respected visionary leaders in the world”.
Specifically, the prestigious award recognizes the Global State of PM Modi, a deep connection with the Indian diaspora of 1.3 million in Trinidad (almost 40% of the population) and the humanitarian effort during COVID-19.
President Kangaloo emphasized how the “personal intervention” of PM Modi ensured that during the pandemic, Trinidad had reached 40,000 vaccines, and called it the “act of kinship”.
PM Modi emphasized the cultural bonds and noted that the ancestors of President Kangaloo came from Tamil Nadu and quoted the wisdom of Saint Thirvalvar about the strong nations.
This recognition strengthens India’s commitment to its global diaspora community, including those in demanding regions such as Iran, where it supports evacuation.
25. International honor in a diplomatic milestone
This distinction refers to the 25th international state honor PM modi – most accepted by any Indian leader. He follows his acceptance of Ghana’s “Star Order” of 2 July for “Significant States”.
The recent awards include Cyprus “Makarios III” (June 2025), the highest civil honor Sri Lanka “Mitra Vibhushan” (April 2025) and Mauritius’ Grand Commander of the Star and the key of the Indian Ocean (March 2025).
At the beginning of 2024-25, Kuwait, Guyana, Dominic and Nigeria, they also awarded the highest honors, while the Nigerian prize was the first foreign leader by Queen Elizabeth in 1969.
