He emphasized the reflection of the Holy Festival “The timeless value of the victim, compassion and fraternity,” he expanded his wishes for Yunus good health and well -being.
“On behalf of the people and the government of India, I tell you warm greetings to you and the people of Bangladesh on the favorable opportunity of Eid al-Adha,” Modi wrote in a letter of June 4, 2025.
“This Holy Festival is an integral part of the rich and diverse cultural heritage of India and is celebrated with immense joy and enthusiasm of millions of people of Islamic faith across the country. It reminds us of the timeless values of the victim, compassion and fraternity that are necessary in building a peaceful and inclusive world.
In response to Modi’s letter, Professor Yunus thanked Modi for his thoughtful message and expressed recognition for shared values and traditions celebrated through Eida.
“EID-UL-AZHA is a time of reflection that connects the community … and inspires us all to cooperate for the greater advantages of nations around the world,” Yunus said in his letter.
He also said, “I believe that the spirit of mutual respect and understanding will continue to lead our nations to cooperate for the well -being of our nations.”
“On this blessed opportunity I wish you excellence, good health and happiness and people in India peace, progress and prosperity,” Yunus concluded.
Bangladesh to organize public opinion surveys until April April
In the middle of the requirements of the main Bangladesh political parties on organizing public opinion surveys until December, Yunus said on Friday that the national elections will be held in the first half of April 2026.
“Based on this notice, the Election Commission will provide a detailed election plan at a suitable time,” he said during the Nation TV address on the eve of the EID-AL-ADHA festival.
Yunus, who took the lead in August last year after the overthrow of the former premiere Sheikh Hasina led by the government of Awami League, said that the key responsibility of the government is to keep clean, peaceful, festive and inclusive elections.
“Our goal is to prevent future crises. This requires institutional reform. Without ensuring good public management in institutions directly related to the election process, all students and citizens will be futile,” said the 84 -year -old Nobel laureate laureate.
