According to a PTI report, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to release the next installment of the PM-KISAN Yojana farm scheme next week.
PM-KISAN or PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana which was launched on 24th February 2019 is a government scheme which provides financial assistance ₹6,000 annually to all eligible farm families in India.
When is the 21st installment of PM-KISAN due?
Prime Minister Modi will release the 21st installment of PM-KISAN on November 19, 2025, according to Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in a statement today.
According to the ministry, more than ₹3.70 lakh crore was disbursed to 11 lakh farm families through 20 installments. He added that these funds “helped farmers buy farm inputs besides meeting other expenses such as education, health care and marriage”.
Who is eligible for PM-KISAN payouts?
To be eligible for PM-KISAN, farmers must have their land data uploaded to the scheme’s portal.
They also have to link their bank accounts with Aadhaar.
According to the statement, the government regularly conducts special saturation campaigns at the village level to “identify, verify and include all farmers who own cultivable land under the PM-KISAN scheme”.
Impact of PM-KISAN: “Strong Catalyst for Rural Economic Growth”
The statement cited a 2019 study by the International Institute for Food and Policy Research that examined the impact of the PM-KISAN system on farmers’ lives. “The study strongly suggests that funds disbursed under the PM-KISAN program acted as a catalyst for rural economic growth, helped ease credit constraints for farmers and increased investment in agricultural inputs,” the statement said.
She added that ensuring last mile coverage for farmers is of paramount importance under the scheme. “Accordingly, the Ministry of Agriculture has launched a new initiative to create a register of farmers. This well-organized and carefully audited database eliminates the need for farmers to go through cumbersome processes to access welfare benefits,” the statement added.
