On Tuesday (August 26, 2025), the President of the Assam Gaurav Gogoi Congress (August 26, 2025) said that “Bangladesh’s infiltrator boards Hisant Bisant Bisw Sarma could not work for Bharatiya Janata in the election by 2026 in 2024.
BJP led a unsuccessful campaign with a high decibel “Love Jihad” and “Land Jihad” in Jharkhand by claiming that Bangladeshi “infiltrators” married tribal women and took over the tribal countries. Mr. Sarma was one of the key activists.
“BJP has been in Assam for almost 10 years, and if Bangladesh people are still coming, who is responsible? Is the duty of central and state governments to stop infiltration,” said Mr. Gogoi in East Assam Majuli and claimed that Congress is obvious that no Bangladeshi remain illegal.
“The policy of the Chief Minister Assam will fail here, as in Jharkand,” he said.
The problem of “Bangladesh” has been since the age of 1970s. It gained traction after the government began to drive in June to clean the interventions from forest land, designated grazing and government income.
Most of the more than 55,000 people still evicted are Bengal Muslims who were described as “Bangladeshi”, “foreigners” and “illegal immigrants”.
“People want to be trapped”
The criticism of Mr. Gogoi’s government led by BJP led by the influx control followed by a political line induced by the recent observation of the Syed Saiyidain Hameed planning commission that there is enough space in India to live Bangladesh people in India.
The President of the State Congress, which represents the Jorhat Lok Sabha election district, also said that people from Assam would like to see Mr. Sarma in prison and not as the main minister of another term of office.
“The main minister saved anyone in his greed to accumulate property in the name of his family. They forced people from all community homeless communities to bulldogs,” said Mr. Gogoi, claiming that extensive relocation led to a constant decline in government popularity.
“In the coming days, people will want to see Himant Bisw Sarma behind bars for injustice and abuse of power,” he said.
He said that the disks of the eviction of the Assam government influenced Bengal, tribes, planned castes and other back castes except Muslims.
