
The University of Calicut will soon have a science center where school students can come and stay for research work, Vice -Rector P. Ravendran said.
On Monday, July 21, he opened the International Day Celebrations held at the University complex in the Teenhipalam in the Malappuram district. This was organized by the Ministry of Physics, the Center for Innovations and Business, Mrs. Swaminathan, Luca Science Portal and UL Space Club.
Mr. Ravendran said that the door of the university should be open to students who are the future hope of society. They could visit the observatory, botanical garden, laboratories and various departments in the campus and participate in experiments with the help of research guides. There is also a plan to build a new planetarium. Mr. Ravendran said that funds of social responsibility of enterprises of various institutions could be available for the science center, he added. The event was attended by over 300 students.
