George Kurian, State Minister of Fisheries, Dairy, Breeding Animals and Minority Affairs said that steps would be taken to develop the Center for Information Technology (IT) on the land next to the Kozhikode railway station.
On Saturday (March 29, 2025), he addressed the media after the ongoing work on the station. Mr. Kurian said the conspiracy of 27,100 square feet on the west side of the station will be developed as an IT hub. Companies came up with this demand. While the railways pass the land, the selected company would be responsible for the construction. A total of 40,000 square feet were assigned for commercial purposes. He would add passenger equipment there.
The Minister said that the development of development work will be carried out every three months. He expressed hope that the reconstructed railway station would be open 1 June 2027.
Meanwhile, MK Raghavan, a deputy, said that after 3:00 pm there were not many trains from Shoranur to North Malabar, who called on Mr. Kurian to remind the Railway Minister for two trains on the route.
The leader of the BJP PK Krishhnadas accompanied him. Later Mr. Kurian visited the family Ahalya Shankar, head of BJP, who recently died.
The Minister also participated in the festival of national tribal literature at the Keral Institute for Research, Training and Development Studies for planned castes and planned tribes.
