Vs Achuthanandan, one of the most respected Indian communist personalities and a key presence in Keral’s political history, died on Monday at the age of 101.
The veteran’s leader died at 15:20 when he underwent treatment in a critical care unit at Pattom Sut Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram, according to the official Bulletin issued by the hospital.
Achuthanandan received treatment from 23 June after cardiac arrest.
Vs Achuthanandan was the main minister Keraly from 2006 to 2011. He was also the longest opposition leader in Kerala Assembly and held a position for 15 years.
Achuthanandan was a founding member of CPM. From 1980 to 1992 he worked as the secretary of the State Committee KPM Keral. Between 1996 and 2000 he was a consultation of LDF and at three separate terms leader of the opposition-1992 to 1996, 2001 to 2006 and 2011 to 2016.

Previously, on Monday cm, Vijayan mourned over the demise of a veteran CPIM (M) and wrote on X: “The famous era of revolutionary will and endurance ends with the browsing of our beloved comrade Vs Achuthanandan.”
Vijayan remembered the contributions of Vs Achuthanandan to the rebellion of PunnaPra-Vayalar and his work for agricultural workers.
“His life – the famous saga of fighting, such as PunnaPra -Vayalar, the management of agricultural works, the unwavering commitment as an organizer and as an effective manager – remains unlimited storage of inspiration and lesson as an officer.
Vijayan, who paid condolences to his family, added: “He expressed the deepest sadness in his passage and sincerely condemn his family, friends and friends. Adieu and Lal Salaam, comrade vs.”
