As the primary medical center (PHC) entered the third day on Wednesday (October 1, 2025), officials from the Ministry of Health, Medical Education and Family Care, etc. agreed to assign a quota in all 15 clinical branches instead of 7.
According to the official release of the Ministry on Wednesday evening at the Secretariat led to the representatives of the Association of AP AP APPROPMENTS at the Secretariat of the Chief Secretary Saubh Gaura and Commissioner for Health and Family Care.
PHC doctors who have suspended all services, outpatient and emergency, in all PHC in Andra Pradesh from Monday demanded that the quota be completed for them when admitting to PG courses for 2025-26. Their decision on the boycott came after the state government brought quota from 20% to 15% in clinical branches for the current academic year. The government also limited 15% of the quota to 7 clinical branches. There was no reservation in the remaining 8 clinical branches for PhC doctors.
During Wednesday’s discussions, although there was no word to increase service quotas, the healthcare department officials reportedly agreed to assign 15% of the quota to all clinical branches. In response to the request of doctors to continue in the same agreement for three years, medical officials assured the doctor that they would accept it in November.
The meeting also discussed other requirements, including time -bound promotions and monthly contributions for PHC doctors working in remote areas. According to representatives of the Association, the health professionals have proposed that promotion will be provided without any increment. “As far as contributions are concerned, they said they would have to send a report to the financial department,” Vinod Kumar, spokesman for the Association.
The Association asked for a time to answer the Ministry’s proposals.
While officials called for doctors to restore duties, representatives of the association decided to continue their strike until they reached the decision. “Last year, the government also promised to solve our problems, but everyone fallen straight,” Dr. Vinod Kumar.
