Rescue operations continued on Tuesday (July 1, 2025) in Sigachi Industries PVT. Ltd., a pharmaceutical unit located in the industrial area of Pashamylaram near Hyderabad, where the explosion of the previous day killed at least 36 workers and injured several others. There are more than 300 employees from different emergency agencies on Earth and navigate the location dotted with heavy concrete fragments and manglated parts of machines.

Officials confirmed that at the time of the explosion, there were 143 individuals in a facility of which 74 were hit.
“A total of 19 bodies have been obtained from the overnight stays during the overnight surgery. The search operations are still on site and in nearby areas for individuals who remain missing,” said Swamy Goud, Sangareddy police officer, adding that no bodies were obtained from the day.
The CEO for the reaction to TELANGANA disasters and the CEO of the Fire Services Y. Nagi Reddy said that, despite unfavorable weather conditions and heavy rain, search operations were without pause. “According to the factory records, six workers are still missing. We continue their efforts to trace them,” he said.
Almost 200 fire brigade officials, 60 employees from the strength of disasters, 30 from the national strength to disaster and more than 100 members from Hyderabad Disaster Rester Response and Aswateness Authority are involved. The Earth has been deployed to clean the concrete slabs and twisted metal. “Although standard cutting and breaking tools are available, they were limited under such conditions,” the clerk said.
Mr. Reddy said that the rescue operation is likely to end on Tuesday evening, followed by the last sweeping of suspicious zones, which would help determine whether more bodies were still trapped under the debris.

Meanwhile, officials of Telangana of the Ministry of the Factory inspected the place on Tuesday. The head official from the factory department said that the static charge and pressure of the reactor could contribute to the explosion. “According to our observations, the explosion was launched in a reactor dryer, where workers loaded wet powder. The static charge is always options in such units, but the real problem is how effectively this charge is selected.
However, unable evidence remains elusive because the key operators and the supervisors of the plants were either killed or injured in the explosion, the official noted.
The department began to collect data on the production procedures of the plant, the specifications of machines and the records of employees. “Maintenance and safety audits protocols have been sought as part of a detailed investigation. We will also question managing officials and technical heads to see if any procedural, human or mechanical waste led to tragedy,” the official said.
The factory was involved in the production of microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) used as a binding agent in tablets and in various industries, including medicines and cosmetics.
