
US Defense Minister Pete HegSeth responded to the latest claims about sharing details of military strike in the cottage of a private group of family signals, he said that the accusation was part of a wider effort to damage his reputation.
On Monday, April 21, he spoke with reporters in the White House and HegSeth expressed confidence in his actions and repeated his steadfast support to President Donald Trump.
“I talked to the President and we will continue to fight on the same page all the time,” Hegset said, emphasizing the strong support of the president.
Hegset, who was engaged in a growing controversy, said, “The leaks are fired and hit pieces. That’s what they do,” he refers to the individuals who are supposedly behind it. He continued: “They take anonymous resources from former employees and try to destroy people’s reputation … they won’t work with me.”
HegSeth fires back to challenges to remove it
Hegseth’s reaction to the growing controversy came after the New York Times report appeared and claimed that the Minister of Defense had shared information about US military operations in Yemen, including flight schedule for F/A-18 Hornets focused on Houthi Rebels.
Chat, according to the report, included his wife, brother and personal lawyer. In a post on X (formerly Twitter) HegSeth fired back on calls for his resignation, saying: “Your agenda is illegals, trans & dei – all of this is no longer allowed @ DOD.”
White House says Trump supports HegSeth
Despite the claims in the new Bílý House report, he reaffirmed his support for HegSeth. Karoline Leavitt, a White House spokesman, emphasized President Trump’s confidence in his Minister of Defense. “The president has absolutely confidence in Minister Hegset. I spoke to him this morning and he is behind him,” Leavitt told reporters.

HegSeth shared strike plans with family, lawyer: message
According to The New York Times, HegSeth used a signal chat called “Defense | Team Huddle” to share flight plans F/A-18 Hornets focused on Houth Rebel in Yemen. The group allegedly included his wife – former producer Fox News – his brother and his personal lawyer.
This incident coincided with another controversial signal chat – “Houthi PC Small Group” – where HegSeth also published attack plans. This chat, accidentally, included the editor -in -chief of Atlantic Jeffrey Goldberg.
Higher Trump Officials: No Classified Material Shared
“Houthi PC Small Group” was set up by Trump’s National Security Advisor Mike Waltz in mid -March, who took over the “full responsibility” for the wrong integration of Goldberg. Waltz, vice president of JD Vance, director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and other higher officials were reportedly members of the group. At that time, Trump denied officials that any classified information was shared.
