Two months have passed since the Commissioner for Railway Safety (CRS), Southern Circle, Bengaluru, provided “authorization” for the operation of passenger trains in the Karaikal-Palalam section. However, the services still have to take off.
Given that freight trains started to operate on 23.5 km of electrified section since the beginning of June, passengers in the region want railways to start personal services without delay. The Karaikal-Poelalam railway line was originally built as a meter of the meter in the mid-1980s. It was reopened after a new track was laid through ThiroLar.

The Thiro -lar Railway Station is close to the temple. In the absence of Thirunallar train services, devoted buses or private vehicles are forced to go to the temple, Mr. Ramadass said.

Railways can extend the Puduchherry-Villupuram passenger train to Karaikal via Cuddalore, Chidambarama, Mayiladuturai, Pheam and Thirunallar. The extension would prove to be beneficial, because many of the Karaikal Go to Puduchherry, where the General Consulate of France is placed for visa -related work. Many others go to Puduchherry for business and other work, said Mr. Dhanaseelane. In the absence of a train, the inhabitants of Karaikal must travel by bus, which takes about four hours to get to Puduchherry, he added.

Mr. Dhanaseelane suggested that the interstate state of Villupuram-Tirupati has spread to Karaikal via Mayiladuthurai, Pheam and Thirunallar. This would be provided by travelers of passengers would be travelers.

Railway officials said that the Tiruchi railway division handed over a request to the introduction of personal services in the Karaikal-Pelalam section. The Railway Council, the new Delhi, had to approve the commencement of personal services, the officials said.
