A civic forum launched a protest march and hunger strike in Thrissur on Saturday, demanding justice for Kalluru native Rafi Jose, who fell into a coma following alleged medical negligence during treatment at Daya Hospital in the district.
The agitation was organized by the Kallur Civic Forum, which demanded strict action against those responsible, adequate compensation for the family and a thorough investigation into the alleged medical malpractice.
The protest march started from Peringavu Junction and proceeded towards Daya Hospital. However, the police stopped the march in front of the hospital premises.
After the march, a hunger strike was also announced in front of the hospital. The forum said the agitation will continue until justice is served.
