People urged to come for eye donation
Urging people to come and pledge their eyes for donation, Srikakulam District Medical and Health Officer EVN Naresh Kumar on Tuesday said that donation of cornea after death could help restore sight to people with blindness. He flagged off a rally in Srikakulam as part of the National Eye Donation Fortnight and appealed to all sections of the society to support eye donation in their areas.
Srikakulam District Blind Control Society Program Manager S. Pushpalatha Ophthalmologists MRK Das, D. Rajasekhar Reddy and others were present.
In another program Rotary Club President Netada Eswara Rao distributed spectacles to needy persons at HB Colony in Srikakulam. Mr. Das conducted eye tests and recommended suitable glasses for the beneficiaries.
