US Secretary of Defense Pete HegSeth’s Chief Advisor Dan Caldwell was accompanied by the Pentagon after the report identified in the investigation of leaks within the Ministry of Defense.
Caldwell was included on an administrative holiday for what was described as “unauthorized publication”.
“The Survey remains”
Reuters, who quoted an American official who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the official refused to provide further details of the nature of the alleged publication or whether it was a contact with a journalist.
“The investigation remains,” the official said.
Development is the latest of a number of events adopted in the Trump administration procedure against unauthorized leaks, which has been a campaign allegedly supported by HegSeth since she received the rudder in the Pentagon in January.
MEMO was looking for an investigation into ‘unauthorized publication’
The Memorandum of 21 March and signed by the Chief of Staff Hegset Joe Kasper asked for an investigation into “recent unauthorized publication of national security information involving sensitive communication”. The memorandum has also left an open possibility to use the tests of printing in the investigation, although it is unclear whether Caldwell underwent one according to the news socket.
A key consultant in Yemen’s strike planning
Although Caldwell maintained a lower profile than the other highest officials, Reuters noted that HegSeth played a key advisory role. Last month, the leaked signal report string published by the Atlantic emphasized Caldwell’s importance – HegSeth allegedly identified him as “the best contact point for national security” in planning to strike against Houthi’s goals in Yemen.
Not related to the recent wave of fire
The action against Caldwell seems to be not related to a number of high -ranking releases for Hegset’s tenure. Since January, the Minister of Defense has removed several of the highest officials, including the chairman of the common chief of the staff, the Supreme Admiral of the Navy, the head of the American cyber command and the US military deputy NATO.
