Renowned publishing company Pearson has announced its decision to support the state government in its AI initiatives for a global AI academy being set up under the Telangana AI Innovation Hub.
The company signed an MoU with the Telangana Rising delegation led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, which expressed interest in expanding its presence in AI skills and credentials in the state. Pearson will support the government with its expertise in curriculum development, learning content, assessment frameworks and globally recognized credentials through mutually agreed trade agreements.
Commenting on the MoU, the CM said that Telangana envisioned to become a state of capable talent ready for the future by training the youth in AI. Industry and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu welcomed the development and called for a full-fledged ecosystem to support the state’s plans to build an AI city in Hyderabad. “Telangana hosts all the big tech companies. We have the talent, the ecosystem and the infrastructure to be the epicenter of AI.”
Meanwhile, Georgetown University’s AI CoLab, the “Collaborating Center for Artificial Intelligence in Health Research and Education”, has decided to collaborate with the Telangana government on applied research and capacity building initiatives in AI, primarily in the health sector. The company has signed a memorandum of understanding to facilitate training and education programs to build a future-ready talent pool in the field of artificial intelligence and data science.
DMCC
Another MoU was signed with the Dubai Multi Commodities Center (DMCC), which focuses on development opportunities for start-ups through exposure to the market and ecosystem of both countries. Telangana and DMCC would explore the possibility of holding events and conferences as part of the understanding.
