The United States will not be “mediators” for peace interviews in Russia-Ukraine in the future, a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.
The US Foreign Ministry spokesman Tammy Bruce spoke to reporters on Thursday that the US was likely to withdraw from participation in the mediation of peace interviews between Russia and Ukraine, reflecting the growing frustration of President Donald Trump of this matter, which takes more time.
“We will not fly around the world all over the world to mediate meetings,” New York Post quoted.
Bruce, however, claimed that the US is still determined to help with the agreement.
She said she was now in Russia and Ukraine to get a specific decision to end the conflict.
“Now it’s between the two parties and now – now it’s time to introduce and develop specific ideas about how this conflict will end. It will be up to them,” Bruce said.
Donald Trump frustrated by Vladimir Putin?
The statement of Tammy Bruce comes to reporters at a time when US President Donald Trump expressed his frustration that the actions of the Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
The words of the spokesman on Thursday also indicated the growing frustration of Trump’s administration.
“We follow Putin’s actions, right, not his words. And in this process, a very specific timeline is improved. We weeks ago it was weeks ago; it was days a few days ago,” Bruce said, accusing the Russian President to prolong the action of indeed accepting the event.
Days ago, Donald Trump went to a direct kick against Vladimir Putin and asked him to stop shooting and sign a peace agreement with Ukraine.
“I want him to stop shooting. Sit down and sign an agreement. I believe we have a limitations to agreements and I want it to sign it and be done with it,” he told reporters at the beginning of this week.
Russian-Ukrainian tension continues
The Ukrainian Air Force said on Friday that Russia had launched 150 drones during its night attack. The Air Force said it was shot down by 64 of them and 62 robots did not achieve their goals probably because of the electronic countermeasures of the war. It did not set what happened with the remaining 24 drones.
This comes the days before the temporary ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine. Russia announced a ceasefire in Ukraine from 8 to 11 May to celebrate the Day of World War II victory.
Meanwhile, Washington and Kyiv have signed a new mineral agreement that will make the United States invest in Ukrainian rare soil and other deposits.
The agreement, which was called Kiev, marked as “truly the same” and “win-win” Washington, came after weeks of tension on the subway at the end of February between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zlensky.
