Karimnagar Police Commissioner Gaush Alam on Monday issued orders invoking the Preventive Detention (PD) Act against a “repeat offender” who was allegedly involved in several crimes including theft and sexual harassment of minor girls in the erstwhile Karimnagar district.
The PD Act was invoked against Sampangi Premkumar, 23, a private driver and a native of Vilasagar village in Rajanna Sircilla district, police said.
In the past, he allegedly participated in the kidnapping and sexual assault of a minor girl.
He was arrested by the police in connection with a case of sexual assault of a minor girl that was reported in July this year in the limits of Thimmapur Police Station (LMD Colony).
