Pakistani cricket council (PCB) announced the postponement of the remaining eight matches of the Pakistani Super League, hours after they promise to play the rest of the tournament in the United Arab Emirates.
The announcement comes in the middle of the increasing tension on the boundary of India-Pakistan, where India thwarted attacks by Pakistan and missiles 8 and 9 May.
PCB said in its issue that they had had to close the event in the middle of the “deteriorating conditions in LOC (control line)” in the last 24 hours.
The escalation of events between the two countries came after Pakistan decided to jump heavy artillery in the Kashmir region after Indian accurate strikes of terrorist facilities. India was forced to intervene nine places in Pakistan and Pakistan-cumed cashmere after terrorists killed 26 civilians in Pahalgam last month.
“The decision was taken according to the Council, which he received from Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaze Sharaifa,” PCB said in its edition.
Previously, PCB stopped the tournament on May 8, the same day the Indian Premier League match between Kings Pandjáb and Delhi Capitals was suspended in the middle of the match. BCCi also announced on May 9 that she had put a break on the IPL for a week and announced in time.
Meanwhile, the PTI press agency announced that the SAE cricket council has refused to request a PCB to hold PSL. “In recent years, the Emirates Criket Council has enjoyed a strong relationship with the BCCI after the” India “of the ICC T20 2021 World Cup, the IPL and Indian matches during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025,” said the source.
Dubai is also the headquarters of the International Criket Council, which is currently led by former secretary of Bcci Jay Shah.
“The UAE has a diverse South Asian population that likes cricket. Hosting a tournament as PSL in the middle of such tense circumstances could reverse harmony, represent security risks and cause unnecessary friction between communities,” said the source.
