Bowling coach Punjab Kings James Hopes supported Arshdeep Singh and Shreyas Iyer to be selected in the Indian team for the test series against England. India is ready to tour England for five match test series from June 20. There are several holes that will be completed by the test team after retiring the stellar batting of the Rohit Sharma and Virt Kohli.
James Hopes with places to grab was supported by Arshdeep Singh and Shreyas Iyer to find a place in the group. Hope said that Arshdeep’s ability to turn the ball in two way into it makes it an ideal candidate for English conditions. In the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025), Arshdeep scalp 16 goals out of 11 shifts.

“I think is (Arshdeep) perfectly suitable for English conditions. It can turn the ball in both ways; it can be backward if necessary. It can mix around the goal as a left armed (sailor) and still take it from the right hand,” Times from India.
Arshdeep has experience in playing County in England for Kent, which may be useful in a series UPOMING. In addition, hope also said that Shreyas Iyer is ready to go back to the test arena and should be in rivalry with England series.
“Shreyas is ready to return to the test arena. I think he has worked hard on his game in the last 12 months. He uses his hands so beautifully, which can be a real asset when you play there (in England). Yes, I think both should be seriously considered (India).”
Iyer scored 435 runs from 12 shifts in iPL 2025 On average 48.33 and a strike rate of 174.69 with the four fifties in his name. Last time he played tests back in 2024 against England before he was dropped from the team in the middle of the series. It remains to be seen whether selectors will reopen faith, especially with a few young people who have already been in rivalry.
