The teams for enforcing excise taxes across Telangana have confiscated a 19.65 Lakh liqueur in a series of raids in the last two days and focused on illegal transport of unpaid alcohol from other countries.
In the first Operation in the Pahadishareef team, the Rangareddy team entertained 252 bottles with alcohol worth approximately 12.60 ₹ Lakh, smuggling into the state from Haryana using cars. The confiscated bottles were handed over to the Saroornagar excise duty for further investigation.
Meanwhile, the Shamshabad District (DTF) was confiscated by 135 bottles, worth 6.75 GBP Lakh. They were transported from Goa and Haryan and were handed over to the CHEVELLA excise duty.
State Task Force (STF) – C arrested an individual, identified as Erra Shashanka, operating in Subhash Nagar and Slovakia, and received nine bottles of alcohol worth 45,000 GBP. Liqueur and defendants were handed over to Ameerpet.
Another nine bottles were seized from passengers from Delhi passengers who were handed over to the Secunderab Consumer Station. This operation was performed by the STF –D team and the railway police.
In all cases, further investigation is underway.
