Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan will be concerned with Fisherfolk’s alleged pollution pollution caused by medicines along the coast of uppad. He will speak at a public meeting in Uppad on Thursday.
Before starting his excursion, Mr. Pawan Kalyan will interact with a five -member committee, who set up on Tuesday to study the impact of pharmaceutical activities on the coastal community.
The Committee includes the Commissioners of Industry and Fishing; Secretary Members, Andhra Pradesh Control Board; District collector and judge, kakinada (member/convemer); and representatives of the fishing community who will be nominated by the district collector.
It should be remembered that fishermen in September 2025 organized road blockages to protest against the alleged dumping of chemical waste into the sea by pharmaceutical and other companies near the coast, which represented a serious threat to fish and other marine life and influenced the income of the fishing community. They demanded immediate closure of factories responsible for pollution and called on the government to start strong steps.
