Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan reviews village secretariat structure and staff promotions with ministers and senior officials in Mangalagiri on Tuesday
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has directed officials to conduct a comprehensive study on the structure, functioning and staffing patterns of the village secretariat system, with a detailed report to be submitted by March next year.
While presiding over a review meeting with a team of ministers and senior officials at his Mangalagiri camp office on Tuesday, he stressed the need to examine how the various line departments at the village level are functioning and how village secretariat staff can be more effectively integrated into them.
Ministers Ponguru Narayana, K. Achchennaidu, Vangalapudi Anitha, Anagani Sathyaprasad, Dola Balaveeranjaneya Swamy, Gottipati Ravikumar and Gummidi Sandhya Rani attended the meeting.
Discussions focused on giving promotions to village secretariat staff, finding ways to align them with various departments and ensuring that the promotion process does not disrupt the structure of the secretariat system or overall functioning.
The Deputy Chief Minister directed that the study must balance administrative stability and staff career progression. He suggested holding monthly review meetings, if necessary, to expedite promotions and address operational gaps.
Senior officials from GSWS and Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, Social Welfare, Agriculture, Home, Health, Revenue and Finance Departments attended the meeting.
