Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Panchayat Raj & Rural Development (PR&RD) K. Pawan Kalyan has directed that Divisional Level Development Offices (DLDOs) be opened across the state from November 1 to ensure that the benefits of the reforms being implemented in the PR&RD department reach the people effectively.
In a meeting with senior officials of the ministry on Thursday, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said that by abolishing the cluster system and creating 13,351 independent Gram Panchayats, the government has paved the way for better service delivery to the rural people.
He mentioned that steps have been taken to remove financial constraints faced by GPs in creating basic infrastructure and to ensure that funds flow to GPs smoothly from the Central and State Governments.
He also urged officials to prepare plans to help GPs achieve financial self-sufficiency and enable them to make optimum use of the funds from the 15th Finance Commission.
Mr. Pawan Kalyan emphasized the need for employees to play an active role in ensuring that the outcomes of the reforms benefit the target sections. He directed officials to hold regular review meetings on utilization of funds and implementation of administrative reforms and called for steps to be taken to organize the Palle Panduga 2.0 programme.
