A passenger arriving in Chennai from the United Arab Emirates caused a flutter on Sunday when he opened the emergency exit door and ran out onto the tarmac. As a result, an international flight to the city was diverted to Bengaluru.
An Air Arabia international flight from Sharjah landed at Chennai airport around 3:45 am. As the plane taxied, the passenger opened the emergency exit door, exited the evacuation chute and ran across the tarmac to Gate 102, airport sources said.
