Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday (October 8, 2025) met with the leader of the party and former Minister Azam Khan, who recently released Sitapur in his residence in Rampur. Mr. Yadav described Mr. Khan as the foundation of a party whose shadow was always with the party and promised to end false cases against him when he was elected to power in 2027. The meeting is important in the middle of the comments of the former minister critical of the party. Mr. Yadav said the former minister was subjected to unprecedented harassment by the government of Bharatiya Janata. The President of the SP promised to fight the injustice of the ruling regime together.
“I came to meet Azam Khan Sahab in my house and ask about his health and well -being. Azam Sahab is a tree of our party, its roots are so deep and its shadow has always been with us.
The President of SP called cases filed against Mr. Khan and his family members false and politically motivated and described him as the height of harassment. “No family has been annoyed just like Azam Khan Sahab. BJP seems to make a Guinness record for a maximum number of false cases against one political family,” Yadav added.
The SP leader, referring to the recent incident of shoes worthy of India’s chief judge, claimed that people from the PDA section were humiliated in the BJP regime. PDA SP means – Pichhda, Dalits and Alpsankyak, abbreviation for back classes, Dalit and minority. “What happened in the Supreme Court also sends a message that the PDA people are insulted again and again. I also said in the assembly that PDA families are constantly humiliated under this government,” he said. Mr. Khan refused to buzz the differences between him and Mr. Yadav.
The meeting is important in the middle of Mr. Khan’s comments, which criticize the party leadership after being released from prison. The day before the meeting, Mr. Khan, a ten -time former MLA, said: “None of my family met Akhilesh Yadav tomorrow. Neither my wife nor my son Abdullah. Akhilesh Yadav has authority over me. My wife called at home.
Mr. Khan faced more than a dozen of criminal cases related to various accusations, such as land grapping, cheating, criminal plot, among other things since 2017, when BJP in Uttar Pradesh got to power.
