
Up to 21 people lost their lives and the other two were injured in the explosion on the flip -flops on Tuesday in Gujarat. The collector of the district district of Banaskantha said that the explosion was so intense that “he sent parts of the body of flying 200-300 meters away”.
According to officials, after the explosion, the fire was torn, where the flip -flops were reportedly stored and produced illegally, leading to the collapse of the structure in the Banaskantha district.
The explosion, which occurred at approximately 9:45, flattened Godown in the industrial area near Deesa, about 30 km from the District Directorate of Banaskantha.
“All the deceased people came from Haliya village in Harta District of Madhya Pradesh,” said the district collector Mihir Patel.
The impact was overtaken by the RCC plate of the structure. Even family members of workers who remained in the same premises were crushed to death after the boards of the plates fell on them, he added.

What is the cause of the explosion?
Police supervisor Akshayraj Makwana said that forensic teams are trying to find out the cause of the explosion.
“Prima facie, illegally supplied flip flops. Police registered companies and created five teams for investigation. A special investigation team (SIT) headed by an officer at the DY SP level was also created,” he added, adding that some people were rounded for interrogation.

Expired license, outages and illegal production
Traders of structure- deepak- were owned by the duo of the father-syn deepak Mohnani and Khubchand Mohnani.
Deesa Sub Division Magistrate (SDM) Non Panchal said that Godown originally acquired a license for flip -flops, but was not restored due to outages after 31 December 2024.
“After the expiry of the expiry, they asked for the renewal of the license. After the authorities found that the unit was lacking the correct devices, the recovery process was suspended,” Panchal said.
Panchal stressed that the license should only store flip -flops.
“However, it seems that it was Prima Facia illegally producing flip flops. Strong measures will be taken for operation without permission,” she said.

Minister Madhya Pradesh Mohan Yadav said that the premature death of workers who come from his state were sad.
