United Muslim Forum (UMF), a panel of religious personalities, called the public on Wednesday to participate in a symbolic protest against WAQF changes by turning off the lights of their houses and jobs for 10 minutes from 21:00
Batti Gul Ehjejaj (Lights Off Protest), UMF, is part of a series of demonstrations against the WAQF 2025 change law. “We attract people to join this protest in large numbers. Turn off the lights for 10 minutes from 9:00,” said the panel.
UMF praised the efforts of the Khateebs Masjids in spreading awareness of the legislation of WAQF and urged them to do so.
The panel condemned the “unlawful criticism” of the Supreme Court, as can be seen mainly on the social media, over the hearing of the WAQF legislation, and tried to know why the Top Court was focused.
