The parliamentary standing committee on transport, tourism and culture has convened a meeting with the civil aviation ministry and the civil aviation directorate later this month to discuss the helicopter crashes, sources said. The panel, headed by Janata Dal-United (JD-U) MP Sanjay Jha, is likely to meet on November 13, sources said.
The development follows a helicopter crash near Joshimath in Uttarakhand on Friday (October 30, 2026) that killed all six people on board, including the pilot.
The panel is also expected to discuss the high number of helicopter crashes reported from Uttarakhand in 2025, sources said. Uttarakhand recorded five accidents in less than two months from May to June 2025.
