The parliamentary permanent committee for agriculture, animal breeding and food processing headed by Charanjit Singh Channi, member of Lok Sabha, and on Friday he visited the ICAR-Indian Institute for Research (IISR).
The delegation included 12 members of Lok Sabha, four members of Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha Secretariat officials. During the visit, the Institute organized an exhibition emphasizing the latest varieties and technologies in the cultivation of spices developed ICAR-iisr. Mr. Channi, chairman of the committee, exhibition inauguratd.
A meeting was convened, where R. Dinesh, director of ICAR-iisr, Kozhikode, presented a comprehensive overview of the activities and success of the Institute.
The Committee led discussions with scientists and officials from ICAR-iisr. Among the officials present at the event were Sudhakar Pandey, ADG (FVS & MP), ICAR, Nové Delhi, SJ Anegowda, Main Scientist and Head, ICAR-IISR, Regional Station, Appangala and Higher Officers and ICAR-IISR employees and its regional stations.
The event also represented a bright interaction with Prema Ganesh, a progressive farmer from Maragod, who shared his experience in breeding spices in Kodag.
