Uncontrolled parking of trucks along the tiruch motorway lanes brakes the free flow of the vehicle and represents a threat to road users.
Heavy transport vehicles parked on service stripes from Tiruchi-Chennai National Highway near Senthaneerpuram and Sanjeevi Nagar and Tiruchi-Madurai National Highway near Mannarpuram cause a close place in the traffic hours. These vehicles that often transport cars are parked on a service lane near Mannarpuram. The journey narrows and the traffic growth is common and at the same time threatens the safety of commuters.
The movement of heavy vehicles carrying consignments for commercial purposes and trucks carrying vegetables and fruits is limited within the city from 6 to 22:00, but during the off -top lessons from 13:00 to 16:00, however, the city vehicles continue to enter and many authorized roads continue to enter into city vehicles.
Many trucks drivers park their vehicles on the sides of the service lanes, which is a danger to other motorists. “They simply park vehicles on the roads without any warning indicators and often motorists are unconsciously caught,” said S. Jonathan, a road user.
Activists expressed concern about the ongoing practice of trucks parked along highways and service lanes in different parts of the city. “The municipal police should study this problem and prepare a plan for the decongest city and effectively promote a ban on heavy vehicles entering the city during limited timing,” said the Hindus P. Ayyarappan, an activist for road safety.
With the inauguration of the truck terminal in Panjapur near the integrated bus terminal at the price of 110 crore, to accommodate around 250 trucks with equipment, including rail and hygiene complexes, road parking is expected to decrease from trucks.
