
The Chairman of the Human Rights Commission in Kerala Alexander Thomas asked the collector of the district Ernakulm to explore the complaint about the unfair collection of parking fees in the district collector and decided within two months.
The Commission asked the petitioner to complain and the possible collector’s solutions. The collector should consist of subcommittee of sub -collectors and officials to consider this problem. The Committee should listen to the petitioner and issue a factual report to a collector who should decide without delay.
It is said that a parking fee has been introduced to ensure the safety of the civil station. Parking is free for the first hour for visitors. Of the fees, the government is paid 1,500 GBP per month. However, activist RTI Raju Vazhakkala claimed that the parking fee has been collected right since the parking time.
However, the Commission stated that it has been a political decision from the decision on the collection of parking fees, it cannot be described as illegal.
