Pardhi gang member held in Shankarpally for alleged involvement in 11 burglaries

Shankarpally police have arrested a 20-year-old alleged Pardhi gang member who was allegedly involved in a series of burglaries targeting locked houses and shuttered shops in Shankarpally, BDL Bhanur, Gajwel and surrounding areas over the past six months.

The accused has been identified as Rahul Vijay Pawar, a laborer from Maharashtra’s Aurangabad district, who was staying under the bridge at Tolichowki in Hyderabad. Police said he was on the run in connection with the cases.

Acting on information about his movements, the Shankarpally police team conducted a search and nabbed Pawar near Shankarpally railway station on August 29 at around 8.30 am.

During interrogation, the police said that Pawar confessed his involvement in 11 cases of burglaries. He was subsequently arrested and placed in judicial custody.

Police said the gang targeted locked houses and shops, especially shutters, to commit burglaries in Shankarpally, BDL Bhanur, Gajwel and adjoining areas.
