
BHADRADRI KOTHAGUDEM/KARIMNAGAR
As many as six inter-state check posts and four inter-district check posts have been set up in Bhadradri Kothagud district as part of an elaborate bandobus plan for the smooth conduct of the Gram Panchayat elections scheduled to be held in three phases on December 11, 14 and 17, 2025.
According to sources, 22 flying squads and six static surveillance teams comprising personnel of police and other government departments have been formed to ensure free and fair conduct of Gram Panchayat elections in the district.
The tribal-dominated district shares an inter-state border with Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Meanwhile, filing of nominations for the first phase of the Gram Panchayat elections began on Thursday.
In Karimnagar district, a total of 92 nominations were filed for the posts of Sarpanch in GP going to the first phase elections. On the very first day, 86 nominations were submitted for the positions of ward members in the district.
Karimnagar Police Commissioner Gaush Alam visited several nomination centers in rural and neighboring mandals on Thursday. Along with Karimnagar Deputy Commissioner of Police Vijaykumar, he oversaw the arrangement of bandobuses.
